Encom PA

PA Professional - The Power to Create, Interpret and Edit in 1D, 2D and 3D
PA Professional is for serious interpreters wanting to integrate, create and interpret diverse geophysical data and models with geological, geochemical, geotechnical, mining and GIS data. Use the complete family of features available to create the ultimate interpretations that drive compelling exploration decisions.

You can access the flexible Feature Manager for creating, visualizing and editing an interpretation in sections, maps and 3D volumes. Also use the Feature Manager for logging anomalies or targets into a database or drawing complex interpretations in maps, sections and 3D volumes

3D Kriging
Kriging is a geostatistical gridding method which has proven popular across a variety of industries due to its flexibility and data driven approach to surface interpolation. The Kriging methods has been implemented as a new gridding option in the 3D Grid Toolkit utility for creating voxel models.

New Feature Manager
The original Feature Manager has been redesigned to improve usability and simplify feature digitizing. The Feature Manager dialog and Feature Type have been replaced by a better database management and Feature Set control. The Features menu includes more functionality and is complemented by additional controls from the newly introduced Data Manager window.

New functionality includes:
* New Create Feature Database wizard for opening a new database
* Import from Vector File wizard menu option
* Export to .GDB or ASCII (.CSV) format - both options have been added to the Features menu. This executes the Feature Exporter utility with the appropriate file extension already selected
* Information Sheet for easy visualization of active (highlighted) feature object data fields
* Additional Feature Options dialog for setting default Features creation and interpretation
* New Feature Snap option to improve feature digitizing relative to adjacent feature objects. The nodes can be snapped to adjacent feature objects for a superior finish
* Feature Querying capabilities allow objects to be queried, based upon a field parameter and saved to a new Feature set

3D Feature Digitizing
3D feature digitizing/editing functionality has been implemented, enabling point, polyline and polygon objects to be digitized directly in a 3D window. These objects are stored in the same feature database, allowing them to be attributed with descriptive information or interrogated/queried using the familiar SQL query language. These 3D features can be exported to a range of common 3D data formats.

3D Solid Generator
The 3D Solid Generator has been updated with a new interactive interface and vastly enhanced meshing algorithms. These improvements make it easy to generate triangulated 3D surfaces rapidly and thereby test different geological ideas.

* New Dynamic Interface
The join path and output mesh can be previewed dynamically within the utility interface
* Improved Meshing Algorithm
A vastly improved interpolation algorithm can automatically detect and handle disconnected or bifurcating, objects in the same plane or objects with no dominant axis. It can also highlight potential errors prior to generating a surface triangulation
* Automated meshing of Multiple Bodies
Multiple bodies within a single feature dataset can be automatically meshed in one pass by choosing a body attribute field which distinguishes the bodies as specified by the user
* Tie Lines option added
The ability to specify a Feature Set containing tie lines has been added to the 3D Solid Generator to improve interpolation between the feature objects.

Section to Map Utility
A new plug-in utility has been added to read an .EGB file containing image sections and then convert the coordinates of these sections from vertical to hoizontal orientation. This allows sections to easily be displayed in plan view, draped over a grid image or raster image window.
